Jay and Kristin Baker
Jay & Kristin Baker

Neither of us has arrived.

We still stumble, plenty. Everything worth anything here, God did. He gave Jay a fight he didn’t choose and used it anyway. He gave Kristin a freedom she didn’t earn and sent her back for other people. He isn’t finished with either of us — and He isn’t finished with you.

Finding Identity

Over twenty years ago, a drunk driver took both my legs in a motorcycle crash. What came next wasn’t a comeback story — it was two and a half decades of rebuilding, most of it long after anyone was still watching. I use a wheelchair. It’s the least interesting thing about me.

God wasn’t part of that picture at first. He found me later, in an unlikely place: an optional worship service at a business conference, one I almost skipped. I went anyway, and found a peace I couldn’t explain and couldn’t stop chasing.

Since then I’ve been chasing that peace on purpose — and helping other people find the identity underneath their own wreckage. Mine was there all along: not the chair, not the crash, but who God says I am.

Finding Freedom

I know what it’s like to be unhealthy and unhealed. I also know what it’s like to be healed and free — and I want every woman to know that’s available to her, too.

That’s why I sit with women. In our church’s women’s ministry, in inner healing and deliverance, and in the jail with women the rest of the world has stopped visiting. I’m not a counselor and I don’t pretend to be. I’m the one who sits down, stays, and keeps praying until something shifts.

Mostly I want women to know how much He loves them. There is nothing you can do to make Him love you any more, and nothing you can do to make Him love you any less. He already paid the price and decided you were worth it.

What We’re Here For

Not to fix you.

You don’t need fixing. What you need is already in you — the strength, the authority, the voice of the Holy Spirit who lives in you. We’re here to encourage it awake, to stand with you while the old wounds and strongholds lose their grip, and to keep saying it until you believe it: you can be exactly who He created you to be.
